MUD Studios Emerging Ceramicist Studio Residencies

Supported by Auckland City Council’s Creative Communities Scheme, MUD’s Emerging Ceramicist Studio Residency programme is open to Aotearoa emerging and early-career artists who are working in clay and based in the Auckland area.

This residency will provide early-career ceramicists or potters the resources and environment to develop their creative practice over a 5.5-month period. Congratulations to our 2024 - 2025 studio residents!

Studio Residency placement 1: November 15th 2024 to May 1st 2025: Anna Finlayson

Studio Residency placement 2: May 5th 2025 to October 10th 2025: Jo Martinengo

Our studio residents may use this 5.5-month period of free studio access and technical support to pursue a specific area of research within ceramics, or to develop a specific new body of work.

As part of their residency placement each artist will work with key members of MUD Studios Limited to develop and deliver 2 innovative public workshops that focus on their particular interests within ceramics, and reflect their wider residency project. These workshops will be open to all and free to attend, hosting up to 10 participants per workshop.

Stay tuned as we share more about our amazing studio residents and their upcoming public workshops on Instagram!
