Ljubica Grubic

Ljubica Grubic studied sculpture at University of Arts in Belgrade, Serbia, where she lived and developed her practice collaborating with local artist-run groups until moving to Aotearoa in 2023. Ljubica’s works are inspired by organic looking patterns and rhythms in nature. Her practice tells a story of an ever-changing quality of physical transformation – being demolished and built again. Playing with oxymoronic nature of materials she incorporates found materials such as plastics and textile in her art-making process, combining them with ceramics, wood and concrete. She has exhibited work in Serbia and New Zealand.
